CDP Appliance Series.

(Continuous Data Protection)

For a small, growing or even medium sized business a disaster can be caused by a hurricane or a tornado, by a fire, or simply by a wrong keystroke. But no matter how it is caused, a loss of data or access to data for any kind of extended period inevitably means a loss of revenue, a loss of productivity, a loss of reputation, increased costs or even worse . . . your customers’ business goes under.

Having a sound disaster recovery plan, and the resources -- on-site and away from the office -- to deal with it, will allow your customers’ business to better function in the aftermath of an unexpected event. It’s just a wise common sense approach to helping your customers to effectively protect and recover the data they need to stay in business following a disaster.

SonicWALL® Backup and Recovery solutions provide automatic, real-time data backup for servers, laptops and PCs. The solution backs up files locally first to provide file versioning and fast data recovery and includes hands-free, automatic offsite backup capabilities to protect businesses against disasters. Together, the automatic, hassle-free local and offsite data backup capabilities solve the pains related to existing backup systems. Also, central management and remote administration features allow IT administrators to operate efficiently and effectively.

Zero Day Protection
The most powerful asset in your network defense system

Zero day attacks can devastate a network. These are the attacks that target application vulnerabilities that are unknown to the application's creators and for which no patch yet exists. By exploiting these vulnerabilities, attackers can enter your network to execute code. In the worst case, an attacker can exploit these flaws to gain complete control of a victim's computer.

To be protected from malicious zero day threats, you must have proactive zero day defenses already in place when the attack is launched. You get this critical level of protection with the Firebox® X family of Unified Threat Management security appliances.

WatchGuard Shows New ‘XTM’ Super-Firewall

By John E. Dunn , TechWorld , 09/18/2008

WatchGuard has announced the first of a new line of 'super-firewalls' it claims will greatly extend the security and management features available on today's Unified Threat Management (UTM) appliances.

Dubbed 'XTM' (for eXtensible Threat Management), the first product in the series is the XTM 1050, a sort of super-UTM for the data center which loads a 10Gbps firewall, 2Gbps IPsec packet forwarding, and cryptographic acceleration into a box designed around two standard Intel quad-core processors.

But in what ways is the XTM appliance going to be different from the 'UTM' ones the company has been selling since IDC analyst Charles Kolodgy coined the latter phrase in 2003?
