FortiGate-VMX Virtual Appliance for VMware
FortiGate-VMX is a Virtual Appliance Solution for VMware that
provides purpose-built integration for VMware’s Software-Defined Data
Center (SDDC), and interoperability with vSphere, vCloud, and NSX.
FortiGate-VMX provides visibility into Virtualized Network traffic on
the vSphere hypervisor through direct API-level integration, and
management orchestration to secure workloads in dynamic software-defined
networks and infrastructure without protection and compliance gaps.
Based on the FortiOS Operating System, FortiGate-VMX contains all of
the same network security protections found in other FortiGate
solutions, from High-performance Firewalling to VPN, Intrusion
Prevention, Anti-malware, Application control, Web filtering, and more.
Physical and Virtual FortiGate appliances including FortiGate-VMX can
be managed centrally to ensure consistent policy across private and
hybrid clouds. FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer appliances can even be
deployed for central security management and analytics in a
vSphere-based private cloud, in public clouds, or used as a SaaS-managed
cloud service.
FortiGate-VMX supports VMware vSphere 5.5 and higher and is compatible with vSphere, vCloud Suite, and NSX.
